The national figures
Morocco welcomed 19.8 million tourists in 2025, up 14% year on year, making it Africa's leading destination. Receipts reached MAD 124 billion at the end of November 2025, up 19%. The sector roadmap targets 26 million arrivals in 2030, the year of the World Cup.
This growth relies on the opening of direct air routes, the diversification of source markets and the hotel offering.
Marrakech
Marrakech-Menara airport welcomed 10,197,736 passengers in 2025, compared with 9,263,261 in 2024, a rise of 10.1%. It accounts for 28% of national air traffic, behind Casablanca (32%). Paris-Orly is the leading route.
The city's classified hotels reported an average occupancy rate of 72% in 2024.
The offering around the Amizmiz road
The south-west of Marrakech, between the Amizmiz road and the Ourika road, concentrates the large hotels (Selman, Fairmont Royal Palm, Ritz-Carlton), the golf courses (Royal Palm, Assoufid, Amelkis, PalmGolf) and access to the Atlas and the Agafay desert.
